MARK FREETH & ANNA ROBERTSHAW-FREETH are the founders of THE FREESTYLE YOGA PROJECT, which focuses on encouraging students to explore further what their bodies and minds are capable of without any particular allegiance to one form of yoga or another.
Their practice and teaching is dynamic vinyasa yoga, with special emphasis on vinyasa krama – the seamless linking of breath & movement-related postures, intelligently sequenced, either moving towards particular goal poses or simply a smart, poetic, dance-like practice. All of which leads to an informal, but challenging vibe from experienced and inspirational instructors.
Everyone is welcome on this yoga retreat – from whatever yogic background. A sense of humour is ESSENTIAL. And please leave any pre-conceived ideas about yoga at home….. Many apologies, but this retreat is not suitable for absolute beginners.
During this retreat in sunny Goa, Mark & Anna will be leading you through strong vinyasa yoga work, more mellow sessions and technique-orientated classes. Please note this is a 10 day yoga retreat, India, with travel days either side so you can comfortably get to Goa in due time- yoga class will start on the morning of January 5th.

“I do yoga to stay strong, fit, healthy, flexible, relaxed and smart. My approach to teaching is informal, inspiring, inclusive and dogma-free. Meet me half way and I’ll help turn you into a superhero…”
“Everyone should do yoga. Yoga is many things to many different people. I could bore you with how & when I was introduced to yoga & why I do it…how strong & balanced it makes me feel, both on and off the mat. Take responsibility for your own body, it’s not a mystery, it’s an art we’ve lost along the way. Ride the wave of life and use yoga as a the beach to crawl upon. My classes are dynamic & fluid, sometimes requiring people to step out of their comfort zone but inclusive not exclusive…preparing you for that mad, bad world out there.”

Posted on February 22, 2013 We have just finished our second term of Yoga and really feel we have learnt so much. Your small classes, individual attention, enthusiasm and support to make us believe we can do what seems like the impossible, and has somehow managed to get us from our sofas in the cold nights.

Posted on February 4, 2013 Anna’s classes are a perfect antidote to a hectic world: as physically challenging as you want them to be, but always mentally reviving. No one’s left unsupported; everyone’s encouraged to push their boundaries when the moment’s right for them.

Posted on January 28, 2013 Mark had gathered some amazing people around him. We had a ball. I think that is a credit to him and to his no nonsense approach. He is a ‘real’ guy with a wealth of knowledge and a punk rock background.

Posted on January 28, 2013 Your teaching style is refreshingly open and by avoiding any dogma it enabled us, as participants, to grow and develop as teachers in our own style whilst benefiting from your knowledge, support and encouragement.
