Maharashtra State Council of Examination(MSCE), Pune announced that the state Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will conduct in November 2013. Teachers' eligibility test (TET) which had been made mandatory for all aspiring school teachers. TET score one of the essential qualifications for a candidate to be appointed as a teacher in Zilla Parishad, municipal schools as well as private institutions. TET mandatory for all primary schools (Std I to VIII). TET will be conducted at least once a year or more according to the requirement. There will be two categories: Paper-I for those aspiring to become teachers for Std I to V and Paper-II for Std VI to VIII. The candidate has to clear both the papers. The TET will be based on the syllabus of high school and higher secondary school.
The State Government has appointed Pune-based Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) to conduct the examination. MSCE has been directed to ensure that the entire process including application, submitting, allotment of roll number and centre and declaration of result is conducted online. Open category candidates will have to obtain at least 60% marks to clear the test, which the mark is 55% for those from SC, ST, NT, SBC and OBC classes.
