Check out the latest limited edition collection from Wet n Wild! It's called Pop Art Craze and will be hitting the drugstores this month. The six new eyeshadow trios are selling for $2.99 each. You know I'm a big Wet n Wild eyeshadow fan- I love how beautifully pigmented the brand's shadow are. They're really the best in the drugstore, so I'm super excited about this new collection! While you could wear the shadows as they're shown in the trios, in some cases you might just want some fun colors to use alongside other shadows in your collection.
At first glance you might think that this is an all matte collection... some shades are, but certain colors do contain a bit of shimmer or have a satin finish. However none of these shades are frosty or metallic. As a Wet n Wild "Beauty Ambassador", these were sent to me to review. I was thinking about doing a video, but sometimes in situations where there are lots of things to swatch- it's just easier for you to scroll through and see the pictures in a blog post. Also, I haven't had time yet to use all of these on my eyes, so this isn't a total review- more of just a "heads up" on this collection. One more thing- I did not swatch any of these shades with a primer! I just wanted you to see how they are without any "help".
To Muse and Carouse
This was the first one I picked up to use! I think I just gravitated to it because of the neutrals- peach and brown. I love the sky blue/light turquoise shade in here too. These shades are softer and a bit more sheer than the others- but with a base they can be more vibrant. While these aren't super shimmery, I notice a subtle satin finish with all of the shades in this trio.
A Regular at the Factory
Doesn't this trio make you think summer? I really have a thing for oranges right now, so I'm loving that shade. Something you'll notice is that while the blues throughout this collection aren't identical- they all have AMAZING color payoff. The yellow in this trio has a little bit of shimmer and the other two shades come off almost totally matte on the skin.
Hard Being the It Girl
While the pink and buttery yellow shade in this palette are soft pastels, the blue really packs a punch. I notice a satin finish with the pink and blue, and the buttery yellow appears to be matte. As a whole, they don't come off with much noticeable shimmer on the skin. For some reason- I guess it's the pink and blue- when I look at this palette I think of babies! haha
Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up!
Love this trio. I've had a slight obsession with pairing purple & gold/yellow, so I love that you have both in this palette, plus a great hot pink. I think you could wear it all together, but these are also just nice colors to have in your collection. As I've said with a lot of these trios, the purple and pink appear to have the slightest satin finish. Also, there were a couple of other shades of yellow in previous pictures, but this trio has the most intense yellow.
I'm Seeing Triples!
I'd say this trio contains the biggest color punch of them all. Talk about getting out of the comfort zone... this trio would really challenge me with the lime green, bold blue, and purple- especially if they were worn together! All of the shades are bold as can be! The purple in this trio has a bit more of a pinky/mauve tone than the purple in the previous trio. The green and blue appear to be matte, but the purple has a slight satin finish.
Three's A Party
How classic! Love the matte white and black in this trio, and the red with a little shimmer. Few brands do matte black like Wet n Wild! I love this kit for the two basic shades, plus a pop of something fun. Where was this palette when I was cheering in college? Those were our colors! :)
Final Thoughts: Wet n Wild really did it again! They've gone to the extreme when it comes to offering bold colors plus a lot of mattes as well. I know neutral shadow lovers are probably thinking... why can't we have more neutrals? And I love neutrals too! But my game plan with these shadows isn't necessarily to wear them all as trios- but to pull one of the brighter shades out and work it in as a "pop" in a more neutral look. And hopefully these inspire me to try new color combinations and do something different- who knows! :) I really like that we're getting classic Wet n Wild eyeshadow quality, and there isn't a bunch of shade overlap... in other words- each trio has its own, unique colors. What ones do you like best?
